Materials: 2 VCR tapes
This garment received runner up for the Shell Sustainability Award judged over all categories. It was purchased to be a part of the WOW historical collection and either travels the world in exhibitions or is displayed in the Nelson museum.
As the VCR spews tape, it tangles and envelopes you. The evolution is complete; VCR is here to tape over!
VCR (Videos Can Return) is formed entirely from VHS tapes. This creature has emerged to rid the world of its rival the disc, as old technology becomes obsolete.
To construct this garment I hand knitted long rectangular pieces (mimicking the tapes shape), structured it around the body and stitched it together. (Titanic was one of the tapes!)
