For centuries man desired to capture the sounds of the world. Without the invention of the gramophone and record, music couldn’t be produced today. Return from the Dead recalls Victorian and mourning garments of 1800s, a time when experimentation of the recording of sound took place.
The base structure is refined from the concept of the crinoline cage. Ruched records represent sound waves. The garment is completely black as if mourning. It relates to the record which at times loses popularity and is discarded (dead) yet now returns, with people of all ages appreciating the unmistakable sound created by the record.

A plywood frame (much like a orange cut into 4) forms the base of this garment. Melted and shaped records are attached to a fiberglass bodice as well s the frame. Wheels ensure the garment glides effortlessly!
